Naam Shabana Review

Standard

Story line:

Shabana Khan (Taapsee Pannu) is a college student who also learns Kudo. Jai (Taher Shabbir Mithaiwala) is his driver / friend who secretly loves her. But their life took a turn when the two of them return from dinner date on Jai’s birthday. While on their bike ride home, Shabana faces eve teasing from a group of four drunk men in a jeep, which turns into a physical fight resulting Jai getting killed. Shabana waits for justice from law but it was not done.  But she gets a chance to get her revenge through national defense security agency. how she gets this change? How she takes the revenge and what national defense security agency wants from her is the plot of the movie.

Performances:

The story is written centering emotion. It is obvious the comparison will be there with baby, which was written centering patriotism. Its good to see it as for change. Performances are good. Akshay Kumar’s presence takes the movie to its peak but once he is not there, the movie looses its peak. Prithviraj Sukumaran is not able to justify the villain except his body power. Music is filling the emotion in the movie. The movie has higher expectation after Baby, but director has offered something different and it may not be appreciated. But I will give credit the director for this change.

My view:

The difference between baby and this movie is that this one has personal touch and that is required for Shabana to join the agency. The movie is action packed. Only thing I miss is the details in some places like in karate final stage fight scene.
