Hindi Medium Review

Story line:

Raj Batra (Irrfan Khan) is a successful business of a bridal wear in downtown Delhi. He lives with his wife Mita (Saba Qamar) and his daughter 5 year daughter Piya in Vasant Vihar. His life gets upside down when Mita decides that Piya should be sent to one of the finest school in Delhi, so she shouldn’t have to live like them. How Indian education system works these days and the difference in the High life and low life is the plot of the movie.

Performances:

The writer has put spotlight on two major issues of today’s India. First is education system and second race to become high standard. Both are sensitive but written exceptionally well. Performances are really good. Saba and Irrfan as both display their characters so well. The support has been very good by all characters. You can feel each emotions going through the movie. Songs are not so popular (except Suit Suit) but enough to express the message. Director has not lost his focus anywhere and make the points stand without any hesitation.

My view:

There are small point like start of the movie, the chemistry of Irrfan and Saba, they almost make the movie real. You will surely enjoy this admission line.

Half Girlfriend Review

Standard

Story line:

Madhav Jha (Arjun Kapoor), a rural boy from Bihar, who can’t speak well in English, luckily gets admission in St. Stephens College through sports quota. Madhav falls for Riya Somani (Shraddha Kapoor), a rich girl who also studies in St. Stephens College. Soon, Madhav befriends Riya and conveys his feelings for her, but Riya declines the proposal of being his girlfriend but decides to be his half-girlfriend. How this half relationship works is the plot of the movie.

Performances:

The story is based on the novel. The only thing changed is the change of story teller. The performances are good. Arjun will surely make you feel typical Indian and Shraddha will make you feel a typical high living society person. The support team also makes you feel the real life experience. Songs are good to hear but I feel they were breaking the continuity of the film. Also the joy perspective is missing in the songs somewhere. Director has made an attempt to make it real experience but somewhere it was missed by length of the film or the overload of pain in the movie.

My view:

I have read the novel and I feel the tension build while reading that novel or the attachment you can have was missing in the movie.

Meri Pyaari Bindu Review

Standard

Story line:

Abhimanyu Roy’s aka Bubla (Ayushmann Khurrana) life changed when Bindu Shankarnarayanan (Parineeti Chopra) came to live in  neighbor house. Both became best friends. Their life has its own path but somewhere they get crossed each other and time stops for them to bring old memories. Abhimanyu became a writer and he puts these relation in a story (his version of story) and that is plot of the movie.

Performances:

The writer has tried to put modern masala story in old times. The mixture somewhere makes you laugh but won’t make you fall in love. The acting performances are too good. The timing is what makes you feel the passing generation whether its songs or technology or its people. Songs are too good and maybe the soul of the movie. When you listen “Mana ki hum yaar nahi” in duo its the best timing in the movie. It was something unexpected as the solo songs is what I have heard only. Direction is totally focused on more than friends forever and that is shown through out the movie.

My view:

Except the end, the movie is not pure love story. End makes the story complete in a way. I strongly fee that this movie was somewhere fall in the shadows of Baahubali 2 and didn’t get the audience.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Review

Standard

Story line:

Peter Quills life gets a new turn of events when Rocket has stolen the precious batteries they were sent to guard by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign. The Sovereign dispatch their army to destroy guardians for that. As the Guardians try to escape, the mystery of Peter’s father revealed. with a single shot he destroys the Sovereign army pods. Who is he? How he got such power? Where was he when Peter needed him? Was this a trap? What Sovereign will do to get their revenge? The answers to these question is the plot of the movie.

Performances:

The story writer has tried to put a emotional touch in the story which we have seen in recent marvel movies civil war, ant man. but story has enough space for each character to impress you. Acting performances are solid. The acting levels can be different when you see Kurt Russell, Sylvester Stallone on screen.  But rest team square off these things in action part. The action is on same level of the previous part.

My view:

The emotional touch part may bore you somewhere but nonstop action and cuteness of Groot make sure you enjoy the movie throughout.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion Review

Standard

Story line:

Bahubali (Prabhas) was announced to be new king. What happened then in the Mahismati? How he met Devsena (Anushka Shetty)? How Bhallal Dev (Rana Daggubati) become King? why Kattappa (Sathyaraj) kill Bahubali? The answers to these questions is plot of the movie.

Performances:

Story needs to be kept suspense and that is the plus point of the movie. Though the answers are simple, but the story writer has put every type of drama in it. Performances are brilliant. Prabhas as Bahubali as well as Shiva, has given his best. The plus point is Rana and Nassar has given equal evil role to make sure that the movie do not lose its intense. Anushka has played her role beautifully. Sathyaraj & Ramya has played their part exceptionally well. The songs and the back ground music through out the movie is really good. Special appraisal for director as each and every scene is so beautifully filmed that you forget everything.

My view:

The movie has a plus point that even if you forget or haven’t seen first part, you will able to enjoy this one. The action is on a different level. Also in the first half, Bahubali – Kattappa chemistry is total fun. Its total entertainment.

Noor Review

Standard

Story line:

Noor, an innocent journalist, seeking for the purpose of her life, always upset with life. She wants to do serious journalism. When she found out organ scam of an hospital, she put everything on line to get his first story. But she failed and she lost everything. What she will do to get justice to the innocent and will she get it , is the plot of the movie.

Performances:

We have seen movies where media power is shown very heavily like Page 3 or Phir bhi dil hai hindustani. Noor lacks that power of media or the power of characters. Acting performances are good from Sonakshi. The support cast has tried to lift the movie but can’t support the movie to raise its bar. Songs are good to hear but breaks momentum of the movie. Director is not able to maintain negativity in balance.

My view:

The movie will make you doubt on your happy life. There is only few dialogue that is useful when the channel director advise Noor about journalism. Except that there is nothing positive in the movie.
