Madhav Jha (Arjun Kapoor), a rural boy from Bihar, who can’t speak well in English, luckily gets admission in St. Stephens College through sports quota. Madhav falls for Riya Somani (Shraddha Kapoor), a rich girl who also studies in St. Stephens College. Soon, Madhav befriends Riya and conveys his feelings for her, but Riya declines the proposal of being his girlfriend but decides to be his half-girlfriend. How this half relationship works is the plot of the movie.
The story is based on the novel. The only thing changed is the change of story teller. The performances are good. Arjun will surely make you feel typical Indian and Shraddha will make you feel a typical high living society person. The support team also makes you feel the real life experience. Songs are good to hear but I feel they were breaking the continuity of the film. Also the joy perspective is missing in the songs somewhere. Director has made an attempt to make it real experience but somewhere it was missed by length of the film or the overload of pain in the movie.
I have read the novel and I feel the tension build while reading that novel or the attachment you can have was missing in the movie.
