Phillauri Review

Story line:

Kanan (Suraj Sharma) returns to India from Canada to marry his long-term girlfriend Anu (Mehreen Pirzada), but comes to know that as he is a manglik (born under an unlucky star). He has to get married to a tree before getting married to her. He marries the tree, which is cut down after the marriage. As a result, from that day onward he is haunted by the spirit of a woman named Shashi (Anushka Sharma), who lived in that particular tree and hence claims to now be ‘married’ to him.  Why was Shashi became a spirit? what is her story? will she be find piece? Will Karan be able to marry Anu? The answer to the question is plot of the movie.

The story is simple to explain. But to make it drama, pure director effort was needed. Performances are good. The 19 century time is captured very beautifully. The difference of the generation is also displayed very delicately. But what I am more impressed is the purity of music, that made you listen Dum Dum and Sahiba again and again. Director has tried his best to put balance between humor and a very sensitive love story.

My view:

Starting & ending is bit slow but if you can bear it the movie is total interesting. I am sure on this we need to understand that if you cut trees then mangal may or not be in your kundali but oxigen will definitely  not in the future.
